      from The Genealory of the Meyer Family by Henry Meyer, 1890.
      Daniel B., was bom at Freeburg, May 5, 1841; died
      of consumption July 7, 1874. Daniel acquired a fair educa-
      tion in the common schools and the Academy of Freeburg.
      He had entered the profession of teaching in 1860, taking
      charge of a school in his native village, but ill health
      obliged him to relinquish his work in the school-room, and
      he then directed his attention to other pursuits. He was
      An active politician, and for a number of years served as a
      member of the Republican Township Committee, one year
      3s Chairman of the County Committee, and in 1872 repre-
      sented Snyder County on the State Central Committee. He
      devoted his latter years, in connection with other pursuits, to
      the teaching of music. His connection with the publication
      ?of The Freeburg Courier is mentioned in another place, and
      need not be repeated here. He served as Postmaster of
      Freeburg from May 6, 1869, until his decease. Daniel was
      not married.
