    Henry (son of Christopher son of Gr. Meyer) removed from Campbellstown, Pa., where he was born and raised, to Centre County, Pa., in 1823, locating near Boalsburg, where he purchased a large tract of land. He was a man of large stature, like his son "big Henry," it is said. Some of his descendants still live at the old homestead near Boalsburg. Henry was born in 1767; died April 19, 1844. His wife, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Hurst, was bom in 1779; died May 22, 1859.

    Henry (Henry, Christopher, Gr. Meyer) owned the
    old homestead near Boalsburg, a farm of great fertility.
    He was a man of intelligence and was prominent in his
    section ; a lover of music and a fine singer. He was a con-
    sistent member of the German Reformed Church, to which
    denomination his parents and all his brothers and sisters
    belonged I believe. On account of his large stature he was
    familiarly know as "big Henry Meyer." Henry was born
    Sept. 30, 1810; died of paralysis Oct. 5, 1888. He had been
    suffering for about a year. His wifes' maiden name was
    Catharine Hoffer; she was born March 25, 1817; died June
    19, 1878. Both are buried at Boalsburg.

    Joseph, (Henry, Christopher, Gr. Meyer), was born
    June 12, 1818; and was married to Beckie, daughter of
    George Corman, Brushvalley, Centre Co., Pa. He lived on a
    farm near Boalsburg. Joseph was also a musician, and
    acquired considerable skill as an organist in his mature years
    without the aid of an instructor. He died suddenly while
    playing the large pipe organ which was being dedicated Oct.
    10, 1868, in the German Reformed Church at Boalsburg.
    He left no issue. His widow is married to David Sparr,
    Boalsburg.

    Philip H.: born near Boalsburg, Pa., April 19, 1851;
    during his minority assisted his father on the farm and
    attended the public schools of the neighborhood in which he
    acquired a fair education. His father being a lover and
    friend of music the children were introduced to the subject
    at an early day, and Philip soon gave evidence of more than
    ordinary talent in that direction. He applied himself unre-
    mittingly during his spare moments from farm duties to the
    study and practice of his favorite theme, and soon acquired
    a reputation as an excellent musician. He attended a musi-
    cal institution of Philadelphia for a brief period and of
    course had presented to his ready mind man}- suggestions
    which his self-discipline at home had failed to reveal to him.
    Beyond this he has not enjoyed the advantages afforded by
    higher grade institutions and his efficiency as a class
    instructor and skill as a performer on musical instruments
    are due mainly to his own unaided study- and constant prac-
    tice sustained by his love and natural ability for his work.
    At present he devotes all his time to teaching music both
    vocal and instrumental.

    Philip is married to Sarah M. Feterolf. Lives near Boals-
    burg. Children: Dora C; born Nov. 16, 1884; Mary M.;
    born May 15, 1888 ; died Feb.1 , 1889.

    Russell H Stamm 80, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles McGee of 604 10th Ave., Juniata, at 3,30 p.m. yesterday after several months illness. He was born in Boalsburg June 9, 1881, a son of John W. and Anna (Meyer) Stamm, and on Nov. 23, 1902, married Mollie Hoy, who died Jan. 3, 1950. Mr. Stamm was a retired employee of the Juniata silk mill and later of the Park Furniture Store, Juniata. Surviving are the daughter, four grandchildren,three great grandchildren, a brother and sister, Charles of Lemoyne and Miss Annetta of Altoona. A son, Foster died two years ago.He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata, after 7 p.m. today.

    STAMM—Services for Russell H. Stamm of 604 10th Ave,Juniata will be held at 2 pm friday at the Mauk and Yates Funeral Home Juniata, by the Rev. Robert A. Dilliard. Interment in Grandview Cemetery. Friends will bre received at the Mauk and Yates Funeral home after 7 pm today.
