The Vanderslice Cemetery is located on Schoolhouse Road just off Rte. 42. The Cemetery has largely been abandoned, although Boy Scout troops and other citizens have occasionally cleaned it. An Eagle Scout erected a sign a few years ago. Early German Reformed Church records state that the first services were held two miles north of the mouth of Fishing Creek in 1807 when the use of the Episcopal log church was denied. the Reformed members built a log school house or meeting house on the site of the cemetery on the property belonging to Joseph Vanderslice, a large land owner in the area. Another source says the first services were held in that area before 1800. In any case when a splinter group left the Reformed Church in Bloomsburg, they held their services at this site. The earliest readable date of burial is 1821. In 1956 a charter was issued for the Vanderslice Cemetery.
