    Flemingsburg – The Rev. Forrest Lee Hedges, 51, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. A native of Fleming County, he was an evangelist.
    Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Edith Carroll Hedges; four sons, Otha Lloyd Hedges, Ft. Lewis, Wash; Forrest Reed Hedges Jr., Chester Hedges and Paul Hedges, at home; two daughters, Misses Hazel and Hester Hedges, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Carpenter, Fairborne, Ohio.
    The body is at the McClure Funeral Home.

    Flemingsburg, Ky., Dec. 17 – Lloyd Hayes Hedges, 71, farmer, died at 3 o’clock this morning at his home in the Goddard section of Fleming county.
    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Stella Blanche Carpenter and Miss Mabel Hedges, both of Fleming county; one son, Forrest Lee Hedges, Fleming county; one brother, Floyd Hedges, Ripley, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. Leo Cook, Hamilton, Ohio.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallingford Methodist church by the Rev. A.C. Watkins. Burial will be in the Wallingford cemetery. The body is at the Boone funeral home here.

    MHR note: "Monroe" was a blacksmith and a minister in the Christian Church. William Gilkison of Catlin, Illinois can recall seeing him at his forge at Ringos Mills, Kentucky when Willie was about 15 years old.

    Monroe is buried at Godard, Kentucky, as is his wife and son, John Tilden Hedges, but no stones for them could be found.

    Lavina reared the children of her son, Lloyd, when their mother died. Monroe was tall and thin and had dark blue eyes and dark brown hair. This information from Rose Sherlock as told to her sister Ethel Collins.
