RAINELLE - Alva William Meadows, 86, of Rainelle died Feb. 7, 1999, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, after a short illness.
He was a member of Big Sewell Baptist Church, a Navy veteran of World War II, a former employee of Meadow River Lumber Co. and a retired barber.
Surviving: wife, Mary Richardson Meadows; sons, David and Jerry, both of Rainelle; daughter, Patsy Ellison of Hinton; sisters, Geneva Richmond of Mount Hope, Dorothy Carr of Rainelle, Ruby Wills of Hinton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Kermit Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Rainelle Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
