    Phillip M. Daulton, April 29, 1939-Feb. 23, 2005, Phillip M. DAULTON, 65, of 1005 Jackson Blvd., Rochester, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Born on April 29, 1939, in Rochester, he was the son of Ben and Edna Nichols Daulton. He was a 1957 graduate of Rochester High School where he participated on the basketball, football and track teams. Mr. Daulton was the owner/operator of Phil Daulton Liquors since 1993. He was a member of Rochester Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos. He was a former Little League baseball coach, a commentator on the Wednesday Morning Sports Talk show on radio station WROI-Rochester, an avid golfer, an Indiana University fan, and a Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and his black labrador Gus. He was also a dedicated supporter of numerous local charities.
    Survivors include his daughters, C'Dale Daulton, Rochester, Amy Daulton, Florida; one son, Benjamin and wife Sarah Daulton, Rochester; seven grandchildren, Ben, Sarah, Zackery, MacKenzie, Griffin, Jessica and Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David O. Daulton; and one grandson.
    His funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Pastor Tony Schneiders and the Rev. Jim Calhoun officiating. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to his service Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite local charity or to Walnut Church of the Brethren.

    Rochester – Ben E. Daulton, 78, Rt.7, Lake Manitou, Rochester, died at 4:05 a.m. today in Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
    Born Feb. 12, 1912, in Rochester, he was the son of Charles and Lucy Shaffer Daulton. On April 30, 1931, he was married to Edna Nichols, who died Dec. 29, 1969. On Sept. 19, 1970, in Rochester, he was married to Nocelle Musselman, who survives.
    He was the retired owner of Ben Daulton Distributing Co., Rochester, and the Rochester City Dray.
    He was a member of St. Joseph’s catholic Church, Rochester.
    He was also a member of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Eagles, and Manitou Moose lodges, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion, all in Rochester.
    He was a veteran of the military services, having served during World War II.
    Also surviving are two sons, Philip and David, both of Rochester; two sisters, Barbara Swain, Mishawaka, and Velma Vigus, Torrance, Calif.; and one brother, Wayne, Rochester; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
    Three brothers and two great-grandchildren preceded in death.
    Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Kikline officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Athens.
    Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.

    Charles B. Daulton
    Charles B. DAULTON, 74, Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, formerly of Rochester, suffered a fatal heart attack at 3 p.m. Wednesday while driving on U.S. 6 about two miles north of Syracuse.
    His auto left the road, ran up an embankment and turned on its top.
    Mr. Daulton, who lived in Rochester and this vicinity from 1909 to 1931, had been in failing health for several years.
    He was born in Danville, Ill., on May 21, 1882, to Joe and Ada (HITCHCOCK) DAULTON. He was first married in 1902 in Rochester to Lucy SHAFFER, who preceded him in death. In 1944, he was married in Fort Wayne to Dora HELM, who also preceded him in death.
    Mr. Daulton was a retired farmer and car salesman and was a member of the Roman Catholic church in Fort Wayne.
    Surviving are five sons: Ben, Dale, Wayne and Glen [DAULTON], all of Rochester, and Joe [DAULTON], South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Goldie SWAIN, South Bend and Mrs. Velma VIGUS, Gardena, Cal., three stepchildren; two sisters; Mrs. William FENSTERMAKER, Anderson, and Mrs. Bessie BROWN, Plymouth; a brother, William [DAULTON], Lancaster, Pa.; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic church in Rochester with Father Claude W. REMAKALUS of St. Ann's church, Monterey, officiating. Burial will be in the Bruce Lake cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home after noon Friday. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Mary Lucy (SHAFFER) DAULTON MASTER, 72, died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday at the Rochester nursing home, where she had been a patient since May 18. She had been bedfast since October, 1954. All of her life had been spent in Rochester and vicinity.
    The daughter of John and Clara (FULTZ) SHAFFER, she was born Jan. 2, 1883, in Rochester. Her first marriage was in 1902 to Charles DAULTON. In 1936, she was wed to John MASTER of this city. Mrs. Master was a member of the Christian church, the World War II Mothers, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Townsend Club.
    Survivors are the husband, at home, 617 Madison street; two daughters, Mrs. Goldie SWAIN of South Bend and Mrs. Velma VIGUS of Houston, Texas; five sons, Joe [DAULTON] of South Bend; Ben, Dale, Glen and Wayne [DAULTON], all of Rochester; one sister, Mrs. Margaret CLAY of South Bend; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rochester Christian church with the pastor, the Rev. James KIMSEY, officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery.
    The World War II Mothers will conduct their services at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home at 8 p.m. today. Friends may call at the funeral home.
