    Sturgis – Memorial services will be at a later date in Cheyenne, Wyo., for Daryl E. Eaton, 39, who died early Monday at his home north of Sturgis.
    The body was cremated.
    He was born Sept. 20, 1949, at Lander, Wyo., to Merle and Marian Eaton. He was raised in Riverton, Wyo., where he attended school. After he graduated from high school he served in the Army in Vietnam. He was discharged in 1971 and returned to Riverton. He also lived in Douglas and Cheyenne where he was a road construction worked.
    He married Terry Crockford July 25, 1986, in Sturgis. They lived in Scottsbluff, Neb., and returned to Sturgis in July. He worked at J.V. Bailey Construction Co. of Rapid City.
    Survivors include his wife of Sturgis; his parents of Cheyenne; three daughters, Michelle, Amy and Jennifer, all of Douglas; three sisters, Sharon Vigil of Lyman, Wyo., Mary Eaton of Ault, Colo., and Judy Mason of Pierce, Colo,; and three brothers, Dale of Moneta, Wyo., Richard of Green River, Wyo., and Alan of Riverton.
    He was preceded in death by a sister.

    Merle E. Eaton, 91, of Greeley, born October 18, 1921 in Riverton, Wyoming to Harvey and Goldie (Gardner) Eaton. He married Marian Farrens. Merle left to be with his maker on Sunday, November 25, 2012.
    Merle was raised on a farm in Riverton, Wyoming on Riverview Route. . He and his Dad farmed together several years. He worked on Square S Ranch, Piceance Creek in Western Colorado and then Meeker, Colorado. He moved to Greeley and worked for the Great Western Sugar Factory in Greeley and Eaton. He was involved with building the walking dragline at Point of Rocks (Bitter Creek) Wyoming. Merle was a business agent for Operating Engineers and was involved with building the Wheatland Power Plant in Wheatland, Wyoming.
    Survivors include his children; Mary Achziger, of Eaton, Dale Eaton of Laramie, Wyoming, Sharon (Milt) Slagowoski, of Lyman, Wyoming, Judy (Gary) Mason, of Eaton, and Richard (Bobbie) Eaton of Silt, Colorado, several Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, and Great-great grandchildren who love and will miss him.
    He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Eaton and his mother. Goldie (Gardner) Eaton Farrens , his wife, Marian Farrens, a daughter, Jean Ann Eaton, sisters, Mildred Chapman and Zelma Smith, sons, Daryl Eaton and Alan Eaton, son-in-law, Clarence Achziger and grandson, Mark Ashman.
    A memorial service to celebrate Merle’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1st at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado.

    Marian F. ‘Sis’ Eaton
    Riverton – Graveside services for Marian F. “Sis” Eaton, 73, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. J. Holland Vernon officiating.
    She died Aug. 24, 1998, at Wind River Health Care Center.
    She was born April 29, 1925, in Herrick, S.D., to Elmer and Alma Opal (Cantrell) Farrens. She was home schooled on the homestead at Moneta, attended school in Lander and then graduated from Riverton High School in 1942.
    She was a longtime resident of Wyoming but had lived in Meeker, Colo., and Greeley, Colo.
    She married Merle E. Eaton on Sept. 21, 1942, in Lander. She enjoyed her family and friends, fishing, hunting and sewing. She was a wonderful cook and had a humorour side that was a joy.
    Survivors include her husband of Riverton; three sons, Dale Wayne Eaton of Green River, Alan Lee Eaton of Riverton and Richard Edwin Eaton and his wife of Green River; three daughters, Mary Louise Achziger and her husband of Eaton, Colo., Sharon Raye Slagowski and her husband of Lyman and Judith Muriel Mason and her husband of Eaton, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Farrens and his wife of Jacksonville, Fla., and Loren Farrens and his wife of Pavillion; and two sisters, Maribel Thomison of Winnemucca, Nev., and Marilue O’Malley of Riverton.
    She was preceded in death by her father; stepmother, Goldie Farrens; mother; a son, Daryl E. Eaton; daughter Jean Ann Eaton; and two brothers, Kendall Wayne Farrens and Ronald Gwen Farrens.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.-

    Aerial Knocked Down by Power Wire Injures Two
    Riverton, Wyo., July 23. – (AP) – Mrs. Harvey Eaton was burned and her daughter, Zelma, suffered shock when they became entangled in a radio aerial which was knocked down by a power wire.
    In investigating, the daughter was caught in the whipping aerial, across which the power wire fell, and the mother became entangled when she went to the aid of the daughter. The daughter finally freed herself and then her mother.

    Goldie Gardner Eaton Farrens
    Riverton – Services for Goldie Gardner Eaton Farrens, 93, were conducted Jan. 23, 1990, at 10 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Riverton by Rev. Robert Grilley of the United Methodist Church.
    Mrs. Farrens died Jan. 21, 1990, at the Fremont Manor Nursing Home in Riverton. She was born Sept. 20, 1896, in Missouri to Charles and Emma (Hedges) Gardner.
    Mrs. Farrens was a housewife and was a 40-year member of the Rebekah Lodge.
    Survivors include a son, Merle Eaton of Lander; a daughter, Zelma Smith of Riverton; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Farrens.
    Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton with committal rites conducted by Rebekah Lodge No.23.

    Riverton – Charles M. Gardner, 80 years old, and a well known farmer in this area since 1908, died early last week at his home near Riverton. He had been in ill health for sometime but his death came as a shock to his family. He is survived by his widow, two sons and three daughters, all of whom live near Riverton.

    Farewell dinner
    A family reunion was held at the home of Mrs. Marie Owens, Purdin, Missouri, Sunday Nov. 8, 1936 in honor of Mrs. Emma Hedges Gardner of Riverton, Wyoming and Mrs. Mary Hedges Wood of Dallas Texas who had not seen each other for thirty-five years.
    A splendid cafeteria dinner was served, after which the afternoon was spent in visiting, taking pictures, singing and playing games.
