- Mrs. Stewart Died In City; Funeral Tuesday
Mrs. Dora Meyers Stewart, 84, mother of T.L. Stewart, 1202 East Sixth Street, died Saturday morning in an Okmulgee hospital, following an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Stewart was a native of Carlyle, Pa., and moved to Spearville, Kan., in 1878. She was the widow of the late Isaac VanVoorhis Stewart who died at Spearville in 1936. She was a member of the Federated Church, Federated Club, and Missionary Society in Spearville, until coming to Okmulgee in October, 1953 to reside with her son.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Federated Church at Spearville at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Silent Land Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Other survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Vera Stewart and Miss Helen M. Stewart, both of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Dorothy Monk, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Beattle, Des Moines, Iowa; two sons, James V. Stewart, Los Vegas, N.M., and Ted V. Stewart, Pueblo, Col.; one sister, Mrs. F.A. Merrick, Colorado Springs, Col.; also six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
