- Mrs. Susan Lawson
Death entered our midst and took from our home our mother, Mrs. Susan Lawson, aged 74 years. She had been sick for about six months, having undergone an operation from which she seemed not to entirely recover. She passed away Friday, April 23, 1915 at half past then o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Davis, at New Boston, where she has been for four months to be near her physician, and in the care of her daughters. She was well known in the county surrounding her home and also by many in and around Portsmouth and New Boston, and was respected and loved by all. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Thomas Lawson, whose age is 80 years, and at this time is in a very feeble condition, also by six children, two daughters and four sons, W.F. Lawson, of Frost, Ky., a well known market gardener; S.H. Lawson and S.R. Lawson, both farmers at Frost; C.B. Lawson, of Siloam; Mrs. Rebecca Davis and Mrs. Mattie Tibbs of New Boston, Ohio; also by one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Eliza Tooley of St. Paul; Mr. C.B. Hitchcock and Mr. Jeff Hitchcock of Frost, Ky. The funeral service will be held at the Mt. Zion, Ky., church Sunday afternoon at one o’clock in charge of Rev. Barton. The funeral service will be directed by Undertaker Dachler of Portsmouth.
