    • John William Masters, 84, of Fleming County, died at the Fleming County Hospital Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.
      Mr. Masters was born in Rowan County, Dec. 12, 1923, the son of the late Isaiah Masters and Lula Kirk Masters.
      John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gustiva Hyatt Masters; two sons, Dan (Bettye) Masters and Charlie (Rose Ann) Masters of Flemingsburg; and two grandsons, John (Francie) Masters and Marc (Danielle) Masters, both of Lexington. Also surviving is one sister, Georgia Wood of Morehead, and several nieces and nephews.
      Preceding Mr. Masters in death were two half sisters, Onolda Caudill and Flo Eisler; and seven half brothers, Early Masters, Mervin Masters, Williard Masters, Harry Ball, Earl Ball, Byron Ball, and Clayton Ball.
