  • Notes
    • Erby Irvin Garrett, son of J.J. and Martha Garrett, was born April 27, 1892, and died January 4, 1904, after only a few days illness from pneumonia, with possibly some other complications. Although of tender years he seemed fully conscious of the approaching, and when it was suggested that he would not die said, “Yes I will, I can see the angels now.” He leaves his parents, seven brothers and sisters with near and dear ones to mourn his loss.
He has gone to rest, and dying as he did throws about his loved ones a cord of influence which will ever draw them strongly heavenward. May the loving heavenly Father comfort their hearts and lead them safely home. His funeral was preached at the home of the Rev. W.J. Parvin and his body laid to rest in Purdin cemetery.
Linn County Budget-Gazette, Brookfield, Missouri. Saturday, 16 January 1904.
