      Mary Elizabeth Bell, 76, retired sale clerk for J.C. Penny and McAlpin’s, widow of Eugene Wendell Bell, died Thursday, May 8, 1997 at Lexington Country Place. She was born in Bourbon County, daughter of the late Granville M. and Blanche Rule Baker. She was a graduate of Paris High School and was a member of the First Christian Church, Paris. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Franklin and Beulah Bell, Lexington; several nieces, included Frances and Chester Garrison, Paris, Gail and Bill Hawkins, Houston, TX, Freda Mae Preston, Lexington, Gloria Sue Rule, Wyoma Brown; and a nephew, Jeffrey D. Bell. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.. Monday at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, Paris, by Dr. Henry Hanna. Interment in the Paris Cemetery. Visitation after 12 noon Monday.
