    • John Burton (Jack) Davis, 78, husband of Carolyn Baber Davis, of Thompson Hood Veterans Center, formerly of Lexington, went to be with the Lord, Tues, Dec 26, 2006. He was born July 26, 1928 in Jessamine County to the late John Hunter and Betty Moody Davis. He served our country during the Korean Conflict, had worked for French Bauer and Sealtest Ice Cream Companies and was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and member of Southern Heights Baptist Church. Additional survivors are two daughters, Jackie Sue (Larry) Davis and Melanie Kay Davis-Nicholasville, a son, John Byron (Debra) Davis-Lancaster, four grandchildren, Larry Wayne Davis, Johnny Lee (Rachel Black) Davis, Crystal Lynn Davis (Steve) Fletcher and Elizabeth Claire Davis (Steven) Winchester, four great grandchildren, John Hunter and Kaylee Marie Davis, Alison Faith Winchester and Makenzie Renee Fletcher, brother and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lela Davis Carter and his brother, Charles Allen Davis. Services will be 2pm Fri, Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Robbie Stollger officiating and burial to follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8pm today at the funeral home. Bearers will be Johnny Lee, Larry and Wayne Davis, Steve Winchester, Steven Fletcher and Harold Williams. Contributions are suggested to the Thompson-Hood Veterans Center.
