    • Rival E. Dummitt, 61, of South Shore, Ky., died Friday Dec. 13, 1991, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

      Born Sept. 30, 1930, in Lewis County, Ky., a son of the late William and Ora Cooper Dummitt, he was retired employee of Martings's, a Navy veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and a member of South Shore First Christian Church and Fleet Reserve Association of Cincinnati.

      Surviving are his wife, Karol Ockerman Dummitt; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Dummitt of South Shore; two brothers, Edsel Dummitt of Wapakoneta and Dale Dummitt of Horsehead, N.Y.; and three sisters, Hildreth Stone of Portsmouth, Mabel Bloomfield of Camp Dix, Ky., and Erma Hamilton of Greensburg, Ind.

      He also was preceded in death by a brother, Quenton Dummitt.

      Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at South Shore First Christian Church, with Bill Hayden, minister, and Chaplain Harlan Davison officiating, and interment in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Vanceburg, Ky., with military graveside rites by James L. Flannery Post American Legion of South Shore. Friends my call at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.
