83, of Carlisle, wife of Leonard E. Gilkison, passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at the Saint Joseph Hospital. She was born on Feb 11, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Lucy J. Osborne Springate. She was an avid reader and attended the Carlisle Christian Church.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard E. "Eddie" (Kathy) Gilkison of Winchester, Philip Allin (Jadene) Gilkison of London, and Kevin J. Gilkison of Lexington; one daughter, Suzanne Gilkison of Annville; one brother, William O. (Lillian) Springate of Versailles; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. On Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 by Bro. Steve Smith at the Carlisle Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Christian Church, 242 N. Locust St, Carlisle, KY 40311. Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. [1, 2]
