    • Marion "Darlene" Weimer, age 58, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at her home in Wall Lake, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 15th, at the Wall Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth McMillen officiating. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 14th, at the funeral home in Wall Lake.

Darlene was born on October 17, 1949, in Stockton, California, the only girl of six children, born to Benjamin Petero and Marion (Baker) Petero. She grew up in California where she attended school. On May 5, 1967, she was united in marriage to John P. Weimer, Jr., in Montclair, California. This union was blessed with four children: John, Don, David, and Gina.

Darlene accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in October 1977 and was baptized on August 26, 1979. She was a member of the Wall Lake Baptist Church.

Being a mom and taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren, brought her great joy. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother who cherished her family and grandchildren and loved them very deeply. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, taking care of others, and keeping in touch with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling this fall to the coast of Maine and stood in awe of God's handiwork. May she rest in peace.

Survivors include her husband, John P. Weimer, Jr.; her mother Marion Petero of Wall Lake, IA; her children: John Weimer and wife Amber and Don Weimer and wife Gwendolyn both of Mankato, MN, David Weimer and wife Kristi of Des Moines, IA, and Gina Anderson and husband Martin of Sac City; and 13 grandchildren: Britney Anderson, Alexa Weimer, Lydia Anderson, Preston Weimer, Jordyn Anderson, Riley Weimer, Isaac Weimer, Eli Weimer, Madalin Weimer, Grace Weimer, Parker Weimer, Jacob Weimer, and Abigail Weimer. Other survivors include her five brothers: Benjamin Dale Petero of CA, Anthony Wayne Petero of MT, Nelson Edward Petero of ID, Richard Logan Petero and Oliver Jack Petero both of CA.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father Benjamin Petero; father-in-law John P. Weimer, Sr., mothers-in-law Eleanor Ravenelle and Viola Weimer; and an unborn son.
