    • Friend, Jack, age 50, of 135 N. Plum St, Germantown, O., died shortly after his admittance to St. Elizabeth hospital at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday. He suffered a heart attack while on a project. He was a foreman for the Montgomery County Engineers dept., a veteran of World War II and a member of the Germantown Fish & Game club. Surviving are his wife, Georgia; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dixie Lee Sherman, of Winston Salem, N.C.; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Friend, of Germantown; a sister, Edna, also of Germantown and a grandson. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from the John A. Arpp funeral home, Germantown, O., burial Germantown cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2 to 9 p.m. Friday.
