    • Mrs. Ballard, Pioneer Citizen Died Sunday.
      Funeral services for Mrs. Frankie Lee Ballard, 90, mother of Mrs. Vivian Sylvester, chief operator of the Southwest Bell Telephone company office here, was given last rites at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Osterhout fyneral home chapel. The Rev. Roy Hearon of the Free Will Baptist church conducted the service.
      Burial was at 3 p.m. in Highland cemetery in Durant. Osterhout funeral home had charge of arrangements.
      Pall bearers were Loyal Andrews, Joe Smith, Oscar Hendrickson, Ed Whisler, Ted Weller and Raymond Todd.
      Mrs. Hayden Gibson was in charge of musical selections.
      Mrs. Ballard died at her home located at 121 East Drumright street about 10:35 a.m. Sunday, January 26. She had been in failing health the past year.
      Born in Kansas City, Mo., on April ____ she came to Drumright approximately 42 years ago. Her husband, Isaac Ballard, was a barber here. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1947. Three children also preceded her in death.
      Mrs. Ballard was a member of the First Baptist church in Durant.
      Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Vivian Sylvester, with who she made her home; two sons, John Carey of Odessa, Texas; and Leslie Harrison of Durant; one grand-daughter who she reared, Geneva Bryant of Tulsa; two other grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
      Also two sisters, Mrs. Nell Reck of Smithville, Tex., and Mrs. Marjorie Webster of Topeka, Kan.
