    • Gladys O. Blanton, 84, of Lucasville, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at a Columbus, Hospital.
      She was born Aug. 28, 1915, on Miller's Run, a daughter of late Charles and Edna Conkel Widdig. She was a 1932 graduate of Valley High School and a member of Miller's Run United Methodist Church and retired from Scioto Memorial Hospital.
      She also was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin M. Blanton, Oct 13, 1960; two sisters, Agnes Widdig and Beulah Bainer; and one brother, John Widdig.
      Surviving are three sons, Harold Blanton of Hillsboro, Charles Blanton of Lucasville and James Blanton of Tampa, Fla; one sister, Mary Secrest of Lucasville, two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
      Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with Bob Alexander officiating, and interment in Lucasville cemetery.
      Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 am Friday at the funeral home.
