Mrs. Velma Jane Rantz, 69, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Cadiz and Cleveland, died at 11:30 a.m. today at Union Hospital where she was admitted Wednesday night after a long illness.
Born in New Philadelphia, she was a member of the West High Church of Christ. Her husband, A.C. Rantz, died in 1941.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Miss Enid Rantz of Cleveland; 2 foster-sisters, Mrs. Anthony Borga of New Philadelphia and Mrs. E.E. White of Cleveland, and a foster-brother, W.J. Howard of Uhrichsville.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Linn-Hert Funeral Home.

David Clark Sleeth, formerly of Londonderry, died of apoplexy at Cambridge last Friday where he was employed in one of the mills. He was 36 years old and had been married about ten years. He leaves a wife and one child. The remains were brought to Freeport Monday where they were received by friends and taken to Londonderry for funeral services and burial. The services were conducted by Revs McBride and Alken. – Freeport Press.

McKeown, daughter of Alexander McKeown, an early settler of Harrison County, in which union were born the following: Jennie M., September 20, 1863; Arthur M., June 13, 1865; Nannie M., March 26, 1867, and William A., January 29, 1869. Nannie M., was married May 9, 1889, to D.C. Smith, of Londonderry, Ohio, and is, with her husband, a resident of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Arthur M. resides near Antrim, Ohio, and is a farmer by profession; William A. is a resident of Freeport Township, Harrison County, and is engage in the profession of school teaching. Arthur, Nannie and William are members of the United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. William Forsythe was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, being elected elder soon after his marriage. He died in August 1871, his wife in February 1872, and both are laid to rest in the cemetery at Londonderry.

The Last Will and Testament of Alexander McKeown, deceased.
In the name of the Benevolent father of All, I, Alexander McKeown of the County of Harrison to make and publish this my last will and testament. Item First. I give and devise to my beloved wife [in turn?] of her downer this farm on which we now reside situated in Freeport Township, Harrison County, State of Ohio containing about one hundred and fifty one acres during her natural life and all the stock, household goods furniture and provisions and the goods and chattels which may be there at the time of my decease, during her natural life as foresaid. At the death of my said wife the real estate as foresaid and such part of the said personal property as my remain be sold and the proceeds to be equally divided betwixt the following children my heirs, viz: Alexander McKeown, Arthur McKeown, Adam McKeown, William McKeown, Mary Jan McKeown, Lavina Margaret McKeown and Rosana McKeown. Share and share alike. Item Second: I give and bequeath to my son Alexander McKeown one hundred dollars to be paid him at my decease if needed extra. Item third: I give and bequeath to my son Arthur McKeown one hundred dollars to be paid at my decease if needed. Item Fourth I give to my daughter Mary Jane McKeown fifty dollars to be paid at my decease if needed. The three last items are over and above the division of the real estate. Item Fifth. And I do hereby nominate my beloved wife to be my executor of this my last will and testament revoking all former _____ by me made. In testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of February in the year 1851.
