Darwin G. Byrnes, 36, of 5817 Carpenter ave., died at Broadlawns Tuberculosis hospital Thursday after an illness of six years. He had been at the hospital two years.
Mr. Byrnes lived in Des Moines for 13 years, and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marian Byrnes; four children, James, 11, Jo Mary, 7, Sally, 6, and Sharon, 4; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Byrnes of Cooper, Ia.; a brother, Donald, stationed at the naval air base at Norfolk, Va.; and a sister, Miss Marie Byrnes, of Santa Monica, Cal.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s funeral home. Burial will be at Hartford, Ia.
Des Moines Tribune, Des Moines, Iowa. Friday, 11 December 1942.
