    • James Edwin Turner was born in Page county, Iowa, Nov. 29, 1868 and passed away at his home in Swan Lake precinct, August 28, 1932 at the age of 63 years, 9 months and 29 days. He was a son of Mr. J.W. and Martha Turner of Page county, Iowa. In this family there were six brothers and two sisters, four of whom are still living; George of St. Charles, South Dakota; Grant, of Orchard, Nebr.; William of Clarinda and Judson of Coin, Iowa.
      He was married to Ella Dugan, on March 13, 1896, who preceded him in death some years ago.
      He was married again to Belle Bodeman, a sister of his former wife, on Sept. 21, 1917, who survives him, with her son, Clarence Bodeman, who has been as a son in the home since childhood. He had made his home in Swan Lake precinct since 1903. The past two years he has suffered much, but with patience and courage. He has been a loving husband, a good neighbor and a man of industry as shown by the farm home which he owned. He will be missed by relatives and friends.
      The funeral services were from the home, Tuesday afternoon in charge of the Hunt Undertaking Parlors of Palisade. Rev. Hawkins of the Hayes Center church preaching the sermon. The music was furnished by a quartette of women from Palisade.
      The remains were taken to Coin, Iowa for burial, accompanied by Mrs. Turner.
      The Hayes Center Times-Republican, Hayes Center, Nebraska. Thursday, 1 September 1932.
