      Evertt E. Say, 83, Emporia, died Aug. 2, at the Newman Memorial County Hospital, Emporia.
      He was born in Riley county on Sept. 29, 1915. He attended county grade schools and graduated from the Riley Rural High School. He was a farmer, auctioneer, and heavy equipment operator for more than 50 years.
      He married Ruth A. Porter on Oct. 10, 1948. She died Feb. 18, 1999.
      Survivors are one daughter, Sharlyn Ada, La Verne, Cal.; two sons, Mary Say, Emporia and Gary Say, Spearfish, S.D.; and two grandchildren.
      Funeral services will be at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home at Emporia, Monday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m., with Pastor John Glennon officiating. Graveside services will be at the Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
      The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
      A memorial has been established with the Topeka Rescue Mission, in care of the funeral home.
