    • Freda Helen Nighswonger, age 91, of Springdale, died Nov. 18, 2012, in Springdale.
      She was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Conway Springs, Kan., the daughter of Fred and Edith Hoff Gubitz.

      She was a homemaker and also worked for Tyson Foods and Emerson Electric Company. She was an active member of the Cross Church in Springdale where she worked in the Baptismal Ministry, was a member of the Singing Saints and was also involved in the Helping Hands Ministry.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and one brother.

      She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Nighswonger, Sr., of the home; two sons: Robert Lee Nighswonger, Jr. and his wife, Wanna, of Rogers and Brent Nighswonger and his wife, Vicki, of Springdale; two daughters: Pamela Ariola of Springdale and Brenda Riecker of Topeka, Kan.; one brother, John Gubitz, of Haysville, Kan.; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Rev. Charlie Foster officiating.

      Burial will follow at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

      Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at the funeral home.
