  • Notes
    • James J. Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Watson, was born at Mediapolis, Iowa, February 7, 1859, and passed away January 14, 1950, at the age of 90 years, 11 months and seven days.
He married Jennie Shields December 15, 1892, and to this union two daughters, Mrs. Carl Knopfel of Marshall and Wanda Trowbridge, were born.
He came to Oklahoma in February, 1895, and settled on a claim in the southeast part of Garfield county, near Orlando, where he continued to live until 1923. They then moved to Lucien where they lived until two years ago when they came to Enid to make their home with their daughter, Wanda.
Several years ago he united with the Methodist church of which he was a member at the time of his death.
Besides the daughters, he is survived by his wife, Jennie, of the home; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clara Humphrey of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
