- Walter “Scott” Milroy
Walter “Scott’ Milroy, 90, Winchester, died May 16 1994, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Winchester, after a short illness.
He was born April 5, 1904, at Quinter, the son of James S. and Nellie A. Bailey Milroy. He had lived in Winchester since 1949.
Mr. Milroy was a longtime custodian and bus driver for the Winchester Public Schools. He had previously worked for farmers in the Winchester area and operated a portable feed mill for many years.
He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Winchester, and was a former elder of the church.
He was a charter member of the Winchester Lions Club for over 40 years.
He was married to Edith A. McElroy May 23, 1930, at Quinter. She preceded him in death Aug. 3, 1991.
He is survived by four sons, Leland Milroy, Wellsville, Eugene Milroy, Omaha, Gary Milroy, Winchester, and Robert Milroy Prairie Village; two daughters, Nellie Perry, Oskaloosa, and Joan Adams, Middleton, Wisc.; one brother, Raymond Milroy, Wakefield; three sisters, Evadne Graham and Luella Graham, both of Quinter, and Jennie McMahan, Clay Center; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Winchester, with the Rev. Paul Finley officiating. Burial will be at the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, Winchester.
Memorial may be made to the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital Foundation Fund.
