    Lester E. Kilpatrick, D.D., 80, of Beaver Falls, died Monday, April 2, 1990, in the Reformed Presbyterian Home, Pittsburgh.
    Born Aug. 15, 1909, in Morning Sun, Iowa, a son of the late Alfred and Ella Edgar Kilpatrick, he was a resident of Beaver Falls since 1971. A minister for over 50 years, he served in the ministry in Hong Kong from 1938 to 1940, and in Toronto, Canada, from 1940 to 1943. He served from 1943 to 1945 with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the European Theater during World War II. He served in the ministry in Sterling, Kan., from 1945 to 1956; in Phoenix, Ariz., from 1956 to 1971, and came to the First Reformed Presbyterian Church, Patterson Township, in 1917, where he served until his retirement in 1980.
    In 1966, he received his Doctorate Honorary of Divinity, award to him by Geneva College. He served as chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol in Phoenix. He was the American representative and treasurer of the Reformation Translation Fellowship, vice-president of the National Reform Association and, in 1977, was moderator of the Reformed Presbyterian Synod.



    Dr. Lester Kilpatrick
    Dr. Lester E. Kilpatrick, a minister for more than 50 years and pastor of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls from 1917 until he retired in 1980, died of prostate cancer yesterday in the Reformed Presbyterian Home on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
    Dr. Kilpatrick, 80, of Beaver Falls, formerly served in Hong Kong, Toronto, Canada, Sterling, Kan., and Phoenix, Ariz.
    In 1966, he received an honorary doctorate of divinity from Geneva College. While in Phoenix, he was chaplain of the Civil Air Patrol.
    He was a former representative and treasurer of the Reformation Translation Fellowship. He was a former vice president of the National Reform Association and in 1977 was moderator of the Reformed Presbyterian Synod.
    He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps Engineers in the European theater during World War II.
    Surviving are his wife, Dr. Gertrude E. “Betty” Martin Kilpatrick; three sons, David B. of Los Angeles, John A. of Pocotello, Idaho, and Paul W. of Puerto Rico; two brothers, Wylie of Morning Sun, Iowa, and Dr. Ralph of Ashboro, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.
    Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 9 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at Campbell’s, 14th and 8th streets, Beaver Fall.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the First Reformed Presbyterian Church, Beaver Falls.
    Burial will be in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Daugherty Township, Beaver County.
