    Wapello, Iowa – Crystalle Leona Scheiser, 92, Wapello, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center, Wapello.
    Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at First Presbyterian Church, Wapello. The Rev. Mary N. Pugh will officiate. A time of sharing by friends will be included. Burial will be at the Wapello Cemetery.
    Visitation is noon-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, with family present from 6-8 p.m., at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. A memorial fund has been established to benefit First Presbyterian Church, Wapello, and the Louisa County Historical Society.
    Mrs. Schmeiser was born Oct. 27, 1911, in Wiota, the daughter of Harry C. and Alice Wheatley Dasher. She married Orval Milton Schmeiser June 21, 1939, in Casey. He preceded her in death June 29, 1998.
    She grew up in Anita and Casey and graduated from Casey High School. She also graduated from Morning Side College in 1932.
    She taught country school in Yale for about four years and then a couple of years at Wapello High School before her marriage. She began teaching again in the mid 1950s in Grandview at the fourth-grade level. She later taught science at Louisa-Muscatine High School, Letts, retiring in 1973.
    She was a longtime, active member of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Friendly Neighbors Club. She loved gardening and flowers and collecting rocks. She also enjoyed animals and children. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, having traveled in all 50 states and several foreign areas. She and her husband were members of the Roman Hawks and the River Fork Rovers.
    She had been active in the Girl Scouts for many years and in later years she and her husband were very active in the Louisa County Historical Society.
    Survivors include two daughters, Ruth A. Lillie of Iowa Falls and Barbara A. Schmeiser of Mount Baldy, Calif.; a son, Donald D. Schmeiser and wife Debbie of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, Susan Mulcrone of Shakopee, Minn., Sandra Chamberain of Houston, Texas, Angels Mendez of Chicago, Ill, and Scott Schmeiser of Las Vegas; four great-grandchildren, Katie and Kelly Mulcrone and Ryan and Sara Chamberlain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was precede in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Mildred Herkelman and Mary Dasher and two brothers, Otis Dasher and Robert Dasher.
