    John L. Corson
    John L. Corson worked as a welder and ironworker for Holland Construction, retiring in 1972 after a work-related injury. After attending Eastern Montana College he worked as a commercial artist, specializing in steel sculpture and working with oil and water colors.
    Mr. Corson, 50, of 4302 Ryan Ave., died Wednesday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
    Son of Robert and Vera Corson, he was born in Billings. During the Korean war he served in the Navy. On June 7, 1957, he married Christine Junkert in Butte.
    Survivors include his wife; and two brothers, Robert of Billings and James in Oregon.
    Private family services are planned with burial in Mountview Cemetery. Michelotti-Sawyers is in charge.

    Belfry – Mrs. Veran Isabelle Urban, 69, died Tuesday at Carbon County Memorial Hospital in Red Lodge from natural causes.
    She was born Oct. 7, 1910, in Red Lodge, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson.
    On Dec. 29, 1946, she was married to John Urban in Billings. They made their home in California; Lander, Wyo., and Billings Before moving to Belfry three years ago.
    She is survived by the widower; three sons, John and Robert, Billings, and Jim, Portland, Ore.; the father, George Anderson, Redwood City, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Silvia Nelson, Jackson, Wyo.; and seven grandchildren.
    Requiem mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Agness Catholic Church in Red Lodge. The Rev. J.L. Galour will officiate. Rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Olcott Funeral Home. Burial will be in Belfry Cemetery.

    George Lawrence Anderson, 86, died Monday in a Redwood City, Calif., hospital.

    Mr. Anderson had worked in the Red Lodge coal mines and homesteaded at Chance. He moved to California in 1938.

    He was born Nov. 24, 1885, in Burlington, Iowa.

    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Nelson, Belfry; a brother Roy of Sperry; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Belfry Resident Dies at Hospital
    After an illness of nearly two years, Mrs. Jetta Van Doren of Belfry died Tuesday morning at 2:30 o’clock at a local hospital to which she had been brought several days ago. Death was from a complication of diseases. She was 39 years old.
    Mrs. Van Doren was born at Sundance, Wyo., Aug. 6, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Vines, who reside at Belfry. She was married on Jan. 23, 1928, at Billings, to Omer N. Van Doren, who survives. She had resided in Carbon county for five years.
    Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two children by a former marriage, Mrs. R.B. Corson and Miss Sylvia Anderson, and also by a step-daughter, Miss Margaret Van Doren. She is also survived by a brother, Willard Vines, Belfry, and by two sisters, Mrs. Zola Coudding, Pampo, Texas, and Mrs. Effie Avey, Cheyenne, Wyo.

    Charles Ambrose Anderson died at 5 p.m. Wednesday in a Moline hospital where he had been a patient several weeks. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m., Friday in the Christian church in Keithsburg, with the pastor Rev. George H. Wilson, officiating. Burial will be in New Boston cemetery.

    Mr. Anderson was born Jun 16, 1863 in Des Moines county, Iowa. He was married to Miss Isabel Tee, who passed away leaving four children, who survive him. They are George Anderson in California, Dan at New Boston, Guy in Oquawka and Roy at Sperry, Ia.

    He was later married to Mrs. Carrie Hudson Pauley at New Boston, who died in 1932, leaving two children, Mrs. Ruth Swank and Jason Anderson, both of Peoria.

    In 1933, he was married to Mrs. Charlotte Campbell Durkee, who survives him. There are also 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.


    Charles Ambrose Anderson was born Jun 16, 1863 near Kingston, Ia., the youngest of nine children of Thomas and Anne Crouse Anderson. He died at 5 p.m. May 22, 1946 at a Moline hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks.

    He was married to Isabel Tee in 1884, and to this union were born four sons, George of Bellmont, Calif., Dan of New Boston, Guy of Oquawka and Roy of Sperry, Ia. His wife preceded him in death and he was later married to Mrs. Carried Hodson Pauley, who also preceded him in death in 1931. Two children of this union, Mrs. Ruth Swank and Jason Anderson, both of Peoria, survive.

    On April 17 1932 he was married to Mrs. Lottie Durkee, who survives him. He is also survived by three step-children, Mrs. George Nesbitt, Mrs. Ruth Gaylor of Keithsburg and Mervin Durkee of Burlington, Ia. and by a number of grandchildren.

    Mr. Anderson followed the occupation of farming in his early life, later taking up photography, which he continued until his retirement several years also.
