    • The Pforts-Kampmeier Wedding. Mr. William Pforts of Pleasant Grove, and Miss Julia Kampmeier at Latty, were united in marriage Wednesday, March 24th, at o'clock at the home of the bride's parents near Latty, Rev. J. G Herrlinger officiating. Just the immediate relatives and friends of the bridal couple were present. After the ceremony all partook of a splendid four-course wedding supper. The bride, a popular young lady, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kampmeier at Latty. The groom is the son of Mrs. Pforts at Pleasant Grove, and is an intelligent and industrious farmer The young couple will begin housekeeping on a farm about four miles southwest of Morning Sun. They have a host of friends who wish them a long and happy life.

    • William Pforts Dies at Home
      William Pforts, 57, of 944 S. Leebrick street, life resident of Des Moines county, died at his home Sunday morning at 6:30 after a 10 week illness.
      Born in Pleasant Grove, June 7, 1885, he had lived here since 1939 and was employed by the J.I. Case company. He married Julia Kampmeier March 24 1909. He was a member of the Evangelical church.
      Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Wunnenberg, Burlington and Mrs. Rudy Toncer, Panama City, Fla.; one son, Clarence Pforts of Burlington; three brothers, Fred, and Lewis of Burlington and Frank of Pleasant Grove, and four grandchildren.
      Services will be held at Giles funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday conducted by Rev. A.F. Koelling, pastor of Zion Evangelical church. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
