    • The Pforts-Kampmeier Wedding. Mr. William Pforts of Pleasant Grove, and Miss Julia Kampmeier at Latty, were united in marriage Wednesday, March 24th, at o'clock at the home of the bride's parents near Latty, Rev. J. G Herrlinger officiating. Just the immediate relatives and friends of the bridal couple were present. After the ceremony all partook of a splendid four-course wedding supper. The bride, a popular young lady, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kampmeier at Latty. The groom is the son of Mrs. Pforts at Pleasant Grove, and is an intelligent and industrious farmer The young couple will begin housekeeping on a farm about four miles southwest of Morning Sun. They have a host of friends who wish them a long and happy life.

    • Mrs. Julia M. Pforts
      Mrs. Julia Marie Pforts, 69 year old, life resident of Burlington and Des Moines County, died Tuesday at Spears General Hospital in Denver, Colo., after an extended illness.
      Mrs. Pforts, who made her home at 905 Curran street, went to Denver six weeks ago for her health. She was a member of Zion Evangelical & Reformed church.
      She was born Oct. 18, 1883, in this county, a daughter of Louis and Lydia Kampmeier and married to the late William Pforts March 24, 1908 in Burlington.
      Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Wunnberg, Burlington and Mrs. Rudy Toncer, Orlando, Fla., one son, Clarence Pforts, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Anna Tieman, Burlingto; two brothers, Will and Ed Kampmeier, Sperry. Two sisters and one brother are dead.
      Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Giles funeral home, Burlington will be in Memorial Park cemetery. The body will arrive here Thursday,
