    • Miss Schmeiser dies of stroke; Funeral Tuesday.

      Miss Lydia Schmeiser, 74, life resident of Des Moines County, died of a stroke at the home of a sister, Mrs. Labitha Riepe, on the Agency road Saturday night.

      She was born in this county Aug. 22, 1860, and formerly made her home with her brother, Benjamin Schmeiser, near Kingston. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

      Surviving besides Mrs. Riepe and the brother near Kingston are two other brothers, Emanuel and Joseph Schmeiser.

      Funeral services will be held at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Tambert will officiate. The body is at the funeral home.
