      Clifford W. Hinson, 91, of Kingston, died at home.

      He was born to James E. and Elizabeth Dravis Hinson. On April 11, 1942, he married Helen L. Ertz at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Burlington. She died December 12, 2005.

      Mr. Hinson was a farmer. He had also worked at J.I. Case Company for 14 years, retiring in 1982. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific for three years. He was a member of SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church in West Burlington, Knights of Columbus #568, U.A.W. Local #807, and the Mediapolis American Legion. In his early years he was a semi-pro baseball player. He was an avid bowler, loved nature, and he especially loved his farm and family.

      Survivors include sons, Michael (Connie) and Robert, both of Kingston, and John (Meredith) of Mediapolis; daughter, Sandra (Dr. Stephen) Massick of Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one infant son, Stevan.

      The Mass of the Resurrection was held at SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington, with the Rev. Father Dennis Martin (his nephew) as the celebrant and Rev. Father Patrick J. Hilgendorf as the concelebrant. Music was provided by the De Moines County Resurrection Choir.

      Internment with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard, VFW Posts 10102,9162 American Legion Post 52, Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League, and AMVETS Post 29 followed.
