Sara moved with her family from Hardeman County, Tennessee, toGasconada County, Missouri, in the early 1830s, according to Gagefamily records. Most of these Gage and related families moved to KingsRiver Township east of Huntsville, Madison County, Arkansas, about1833. The Lewis C. Hudspeth family was listed in this township in the1840 census dated August 25, 1940. The Lewis Hudspeth family andseveral Gage families moved to the Osage Township of Carroll County,Arkansas, in the 1840s and lived there when the 1870 census was takenon July 30, 1870. Before 1880 the Hudspeths and some of the Gagessettled in Piney Township near present day Metalton.
Sara is listed in the US Census of 1900 living in Carroll County,Arkansas, in the home of her son, John Franklin Hudspeth, who is awidower at this time. The daughter of John F., Mary Angeline HudspethWebb, confirmed in an interview with Randy Hudspeth in 1967 that hergrandmother lived with them during this time and that she died shortlyafter the turn of the century.
