    D.C. Bateman, Official’s Father, Dies at Age 88
    Daniel Clinton Bateman, 88, of 4804 Eastline Rd., father of City Secretary Roy A. Bateman, died Wednesday night in a hospital.
    The lifelong Tarrant County resident was a retired public school custodian. He was a member of Evans Avenue Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.
    Also surviving are four sons, Marvin Bateman of Fort Worth, C.E. Bateman of Dallas, Leonard Bateman of Waco and Raymond Bateman of Los Angeles; three daughters, Mrs. H.G. Calk of Fort Worth, Mrs. Homer Cates of Bryan and Mrs. Hugh Robinson of Harlingen; 15 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Evans Avenue Baptist church with burial in Greenwood.
