    Roy died Monday, May 24, 2004, at his home.
    He was born July 24, 1981, in Rock Island, son of Roy and Becky Smith Ashton Jr. He graduated in 1999 from United Township High School and attended Black Hawk College, Moline.
    Roy currently was working security at Tyson Food, Joslin. He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers, WWF, playing on the computer, but, most of all, his friends.
    Survivors include his mother, Becky Ashton, Colona; sisters, Nicole Ficke, Bloomington, Ill., and Kaela Ashton, Colona; nephew, T. J. Ficke; grandmother, Eloise Smith, Moline; and many aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. He was precede in death by his father.

    Mr. Ashton died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, in East Moline.

    He was born Jan. 18, 1955, in Moline, the son of Roy and Neola Whitaker Ashton Sr. He married Becky Smith Feb. 14, 1981, in Colona.

    Roy had worked as a press technician and currently as a security guard at the Quad City Times, Davenport.

    Roy enjoyed the outdoors and watching NASCAR, drag racing and WWF.

    Survivors include his wife, Becky, East Moline; daughters, Nicole Rose Ficke, Silvis, and Kaela Ashton, East Moline; son, Roy Ashton III, Silvis; grandson, T.J. Ficke; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Rodger Belowske and Sandra and Terry Browne, all of East Moline, Vivian and Joel Michaelson, Hampton, Nora Ashton, Moline, and Mary Ann and Warren Holdsworth, Huntington Beach, Calif.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and best friends, Rocky Noel, Ray Roselle and Mark Weimer.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Friends may call from 2 until 5 this afternoon and from 7 until 9 this evening at Fairman Mortuary, Green Rock.
    Mr. Ashton was born in Farmington. He married Neola w. Whittacker Oct. 28, 1943 in Kahoka, Mo.
    He was employed by Ideal Plumbing & Heating Co., Davenport. Mr. Ashton was a veteran of World War II.
    Survivors are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. Rodger Belowski of Colona; Vivian, Sandra, Nora and Mary, all at home; a son, Roy Jr., also at home; two grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ashton of Canton; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Knox of Maquon, Mrs. William Burke of Canton and Mrs. John Hickard of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth both of Canton.

    Mrs. Ashton retired in 1983 from the dietary department at the former Lutheran Hospital, Moline.
    She enjoyed crocheting and bingo.

Levi, Oakville, Iowa, and Joh, Burlington, Iowa; and sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Proud, Clinton, Iowa; Mrs. Sidney Baker, Aledo, and Mrs. Herbert Spahn, Texas.
