133 Death Certificate #66 0040443: Owen Thomas Brown was born on May 30, 1900 in Montgomery County, Missouri to Eli & Letha May (Parson) Brown. Owen was a farmer and was married to Marjorie Brown upon his death on October 29, 1966. Owen had lived on a farm outside of the city limits of Fulton for 39 years and had died at the Callaway Memorial Hospital, Fulton, MO at the age of 66 yrs old. Burial was on October 31, 196 at the Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, MO with Maupin Funeral Home as the funeral director.

Had an older brother named Richard Stone Brown born November 27, 1897 and died on July 16, 1966 in Montgomery County, MO. In 1940 he was 42 yrs old, single and lived in Danville, MO with his 73 yr old father Eleazer Brown.

135 Death of Mrs. Clara Huebner
Mrs. Clara Anna Huebner, 83, died at 2:30 o’clock this morning, Aug. 29, 1959, at the Pleasant View Rest Home in Shelbyville, Mo., where she had been a patient since August 10. For the last several years she had made her home with Leland Huling of near Locust Hill. The body was brought to the Hudson Funeral Home here where services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, with Rev. J.E. Corey officiating and burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery at Kirksville. Mrs. Huebner was born March 19, 1876, near Sperry, Iowa, a daughter of Henry and Amelia Wunnenberg. She was married to Harley Huebner in Iowa on December 22, 1897, and he died February 5, 1946, at La Plata, Mo. They came to Knox County in 1912 and lived on a farm and in 1944 they moved to La Plata where Mr. Huebner died. She was a member of the German Lutheran Church. The ony survivors are nieces and nephews in Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, her husband, five brothers and three sisters.

New Boston Farmer succumbs at Aledo Hospital: Rite Indefinite.
(Journal News Service.) -
New Boston – a five years illness with heart trouble proved fatal to George Noble, 71, well known local farmer, death occurring at 11 p.m. Wednesday at an Aledo hospital. He had been in the hospital for four weeks.
Mr. Noble, the son of Jpnathan and Harriet Noble, was born Dec. 11, 1864, at Eliza, Ill. He married Effie Sheasley on Sept. 20, 1887.
Surviving are his wife, several children, Mrs. Mollie Anderson of New Boston, Mrs. Ella McNeal of Muscatine, Mrs. Cassie Bauguess of New Boston, Mrs. Opal Sloan of New Boston, Omer Noble of Keithsburg, Ill., Lee of Davenport, and John and Craig of New Boston. Twenty-four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers and one sister, Omer, Henry and Cora Noble, all of Eliza, also survive.
The funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in Eliza Creek cemetery.

Aged woman is guest of honor

Wapello, Ia., July 29. – The descendants of Mrs. Dorothy Reimann held their annual reunion Sunday at the chautauqua park at Mediapolis. Mrs. Reimann, who is 88 years of age was the guest of honor. A picnic dinner featured the noon hour and the afternoon was spent socially and pictures of the group were taken.
The personnel included Mrs. Riemann, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wunnenberg, Mr. and Mrs. George Reimann, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Whitaker, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thomas [Thomes], Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson, Nora, Retta and Roy Reimann, Ralph and Alfred Wunnenberg, Winona and Marcella Reimann, Genevieve Thomas [Thomes], Orval Anderson and William Walker of Sperry; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyer of West Burlington; May Wunnenberg, Elmer Ruschill, Donald Sullivan of Burlington, and Mrs. Joseph Schmeiser and children Vera, Orval and Alice Schmeiser of Wapello.

Donald L. Reiter, 63, of Burlington, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 1994, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Jan. 5, 1931, at Iowa City, he was the son of Guy and Lillian Wunnenberg Reiter.
Mr. Reiter was a production worker at Midwest Biscuit Co. He served in the US Marines from 1950 until 1958.
Survivors include his mother of Mediapolis; a brother, Richard of Yarmouth; two sisters, Marilyn Shepart of Muscatine and Carol Wobers of Monmouth, Ill.; and his long-time friend, Bill Jacobs of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call after noon Sunday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis.
The funeral for Mr. Reiter will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.

Doris Elaine Waddell, 86, entered Heaven’s gates peacefully Monday, July 31, 2017, with her family by her side. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Doris was born in Oakville, Iowa, on April 9, 1931. She married Don Waddell on Jan. 7, 1949.
Doris is survived by her daughter Linda (Jim) Hickey of Mount Vernon; son, Rick (Brenda) Waddell of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, in 1990; son, Steve, in 2016; brother, Harold; sister, Joyce: and granddaughter, Alicia.
Private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oakshade Cemetery in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, Doris requested that memorials be directed to Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.

143 Doris J. Fenno, 78, Davenport, died Sept. 16, 2004, at her home. Services are 11:30 a.m. Monday at Runge, Davenport. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born Feb. 28, 1926, in Davenport, to Edward and Hester Slater. Chet and Eloise Dominacki raised her. She married George Fenno in 1953.
Surviving are husband; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Snell, Davenport, George and Kathy Fenno, Davenport; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter; sister, Donna Smith, Bay St. Louis, Miss.; brother, Walter ''Butch'' Dominacki, Bettendorf.

Dorothy was born March 17, 1925, in Yellow Springs Twp., IA to Otto and Anna Wunnenberg. She passed away in her home on August 7, 2007, in Edmonds, WA.

She served in the U.S. army, as a Sergeant, during WWII. She was a surgical technician. She met her husband, Henry, while serving at Ft. George Wright, WA. They married in Hollywood, CA on November 14, 1947. They have seven children.
Her passion was her family. She loved the ocean beaches, caring for animals, strays and all and her dog, Nettie Rose.
She and her children traveled the world to be with her Air Force husband SMSgt. Henry T. Chamberlain USAF (Ret)

146 Early Pioneer of Louisa County Dies
Wapello, Ia., Jan. 31. – Mrs. Wilhelmina Bettemiller Wehmeyer, aged 91 years, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lena Owens, near Columbus Junction.
When 5 years of age she came to American from Germany with her parents, three sisters and two brothers. After landing in New York they made the trip to St. Louis, and frm there to Warrentown, mo., where she obtained a grammar school education. She was united in marriage to August Wehmeyer in 1853 and after one year came to Louisa county, making the trip by boat from St. Louis to Port Louisa.
Thirteen children were born to them, eight of whom survive. They are John of La Ferria, Tex.; Daniel of Conesville; Mrs. Amelia Winmeyer of Naper, Neb.; Mrs. Lena Owens of near Columbus Junction; Mrs. Kate Brauns, Mrs. Eliza Weber, Mrs. Emma Otto, Mrs. Christina Schmeiser of Wapello.
Funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock, from the Grace M.E. church, conducted by the Rev. G.E. Heidle, with interment at Wapello cemetery.

147 Edith Burgus
Born Oct. 8, 1908, in Sperry, she was the daughter of Herbert and Vena Wunnenberg Edmonds. On Feb. 9, 1938, she married Martin Frederick Burgus in Burlington. He died on Jan. 1, 1995.
Mrs. Burgus was a homemaker and a farmer.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was a 1926 graduate of Sperry High School and played on the girls basketball team that went to state. She enjoyed her church and indoor and outdoor gardening. She also enjoyed canning the fruits of her labor.
Survivors include one son, Gilbert Burgus of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church.
The funeral for Mrs. Burgus will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Bethany Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Bethany Lutheran Church.

148 Edward H. Schuler, 81, resident of Sperry, died Thursday at 8:50 p.m. at Klein hospital. He was born Apr. 22, 1884 in Des Moines county, the son of Joseph and Mary Meyers Schuler.
He married Etta Walker in 1910. She died in 1918 and he married Ruth Thompson Murphy in 1920. He was a member of the Kingston Methodist church.
Surviving are: His wife of Sperry; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Sperfslage and Mrs. Wilma Wunnenberg, Burlington nd Dorothy Reeb, Sperry; a son, Joseph, Wever, and a step son, Robert Murphy, Burlington, a sister Miss Harriett Sprauge, Bellwood, Ill. seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
Services: Sunday, 2 p.m, Fry chapel, Mediapolis; Memorial Park, Burlington.

Services for Edward Daniel Slater, 65, of 526 E. 6th St., Davenport, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Runge Chapel, with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is at the mortuary.
Mr. Slater, a resident of the city for 42 years, died Monday morning at his home after an extended illness.
He had been a machinist at the Silvis Shops. He retired two years ago.
Mr. Slater was born in St. Louis, Mo. He married Elise Krebs in Rock Island in 1952.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. George Fenno, Davenport; a son, Richard, Fairfield, Calif., and six grandchildren.

150 Eleanor Breuer

Eleanor Breuer, 78, of Mediapolis and formerly of Oakville, died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Dec. 22, 1931, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Archie Lee and Ella Mae Goble Brockway. On Sept. 10, 1950, she married Mark Louis Breuer in Burlington. He died Feb. 16, 2005.

Mrs. Breuer graduated form Burlington High School and was of the Methodist faith. She belonged to the Eagles, women's bowling league and the American legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, canning, camping, fishing, playing cards, bingo and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Breuer of Sperry; one daughter Debra Thacker of Oakville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marion Andries and Gladys Wiley of Burlington, Marjorie Rice of Mount Union, Delores Christofferson of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews.

No service is planned. The family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis.
