Born June 19, 1919, in rural Sperry, he was the son of Roy F. and Alice D. Wunnenberg Anderson. On Jan. 24, 1948, he married Helen Howe in Burlington. Mr. Anderson farmed throughout his life. He loved the land and had prepared it for planting this past spring. He also enjoyed caring for his Angus cows. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran and attended Kingston United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; one son, Gary Anderson of Mediapolis; two grandchildren.

Orville Frederick Anderson, 85, of rural Sperry, died Monday evening, October 4, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born June 19, 1919, in rural Sperry, he was the son of Roy F. and Alice D. Wunnenberg Anderson. On January 24, 1948, he married Helen Howe in Burlington.
Mr. Anderson farmed throughout his life.
He loved the land and had prepared it for planting this past spring. He also enjoyed caring for his Angus cows. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran and attended Kingston United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Gary Anderson of Mediapolis; two grandchildren; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Anderson will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, with the Reverend Beth Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Kingston United Methodist Church and Great River Hospice.
