- Funeral Services For Mrs. O.A. Ambrose Held At New Boston

New Boston, Ill., Nov. 21. – Mrs. C. Ambrose Anderson of Alexis passed away at her home Tuesday morning, Nov.17, 1931, after a long illness. Short services were held at the home Thursday, at 12.15 p.m., for local friends. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in New Boston Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. O.D. Slater, pastor of the Presbyterian church in Alexis, officiating. Interment was in the New Boston cemetery.
Carrie Elizabeth Hodgson, fifth child of Walter D. and Mary A. Hodgson, was born just north of New Boston on Jan. 27, 1879, and passed away at her home in Alexis Nov. 17, 1931, aged 52 years, 10 months and 21 days. She was united in marriage to Fred C. Pauley in 1899.
To this union two children were born, Georgia Luella, who is now Mrs. Lloyd Nesbit of La Harpe, and Carl J., who died in infancy. In 1903 she was again married to Charles Ambrose Anderson. To this union three children were born, Olive and Maud, who preceded her in death in 1920, Ruth Hodgson, who is now Mrs. O.E. Swank of Peoria, and Jason Ambrose at home. There are left to mourn her passing three sisters, Mrs. Marietta Davis of Aledo, Mrs. Minnie Maude Glidden of New Boston, and Mrs. Edith Edna Finch of Joy, three brothers, William R. of Kirkwood, Amos G. of New Boston, and Floyd E. of Joy, and many other relatives and friends.
