Wapello, Ia., Jan. 18. - H.J. Schmeiser passed away yesterday noon in his home south of Wapello, having been ill for a number of years. Henry Jacob Schmeiser was born near Burlington, April ;18, 1857, the son of Jacob and Maria Reece Schmeiser. He married Miss Emma Sophia Langworth, Oct. 13, 1887 and she was a daughter, Miss Alma, and a son, Carlton Schmeiser, survive. Mrs. Schmeiser came to Wapello 40 years ago and for some time conducted a casket factory. The past few years the family resided on a farm south of Wapello.
Beside the wife and children he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Emanuel and Joseph Schmeiser of Wapello; Benjamin and Theophilus of Burlington; Mrs. Tabitha Reipe, Misses Lydia and Ottie Schmeiser of Burlington, and Mrs. A.J. Miller of Muskegon, Mich.
