Wapello – Gertrude R. Fish, 79, Wapello, died this morning at the Burlington Medical Center.
Services are pending at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
The daughter of John P. and Lena Baird Robertson, she was born Oct. 6, 1902, in Des Moines County.
Her marriage to Virgil Fish took place Oct. 25, 1927, in Marengo. Mrs. Fish graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1924 and had been practicing in Wapello since that time.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Lela Leverin of Keystone; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton Robertson of McAllen, Texas, and James Robertson of Morning Sun; and six sisters, Marjorie Brown of Fulton, Mo., Hilma Gardner of Rock Island, Dorothy Swanson of San Jose, Calif., Marian Smith of San Diego, Calif., Betty Caparoon of Muscatine and Barbara Howe of Manpeca, Calif.
One brother preceded her in death.
