    • Mrs. Pearl Emma Thomes, 54, of Sperry, died at Burlington hospital Friday at 5:30 p.m. following an extended illness.
      She was born August 6, 1902, in Des Moines county, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Riemann Wunnenberg. September 6, 1922, she married Clarence Thomes in Burlington.
      Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Adrian Mellinger, Sperry; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Anderson, Sperry, Mrs. Elmer Ruschill, Burlington, and Mrs. Minnie McKeown, Darien Wisconsin; three brothers, Alfred and Ralph Wunnenberg, both of Burlington, and Vernon Wunnenberg, Miami, Florida; also her mother, Mrs. Anna Wunnenberg, of Sperry.
      Her father and two brothers are dead.
      Services will be held in Prugh's chapel Monday at 2 p.m. The Reverend Lester Hancock will officiate. Burial will be in Kossuth cemetery.
