    Mrs. Viola Poisel
    Mrs. Viola Lorraine Poisel, of 1505 Corse, died 16 minutes after being admitted to Mercy hospital shortly before noon Thursday. Death was apparently due to a stroke.
    Rev. John M. Schull pastor of Zion United Church of Christ will conduct last rites at Prugh’s chapel at 10:30 Saturday. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
    A native of Des Moines county, Mrs. Poisel was born Jan. 29, 1896, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Malchow. She was married to Mr. Albert J. Poisel in Monmouth, Ill., on Nov. 28, 1936. Mr. Poisel died Feb. 24, 1963.
    Mrs. Poisel had been a resident of Burlington for 29 years. She is survived by a son, Charles A. Poisel, at home, and several nieces and nephews, including Walter Malchow of Burlington. Two brothers died previously.

    Malchow – Services for Piermont John Malchow, 48, who died Saturday, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Fry funeral home at Mediapolis. Rev. R. G. Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery with military rites.
    He was born June 20, 1898, the son of Louis and Mary Malchow, and was a native of Des Moines county. He spent his entire life on a farm near Kingston, with the exception of 9 months service in World War 2.
    Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Albert Poisel, Burlington; a brother, Ivan, Kingston; and 2 nephews.

    Charles Albert Poisel
    Born Feb. 24, 1938, in Burlington, he was the son of Albert Joe and Viola L. Malchow Poisel.
    Mr. Poisel was a graduate of Burlington High School. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard from 1955 through 1964. He was a commercial fisherman and in more recent years operated Charlie's Custom Sawing.
    He loved to fish the Mississippi River. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed hunting, bowling, and was a fan of car races.
    Survivors include one daughter, Janese Brown of Kearney, Mo., and two grandchildren.
    Visitation will begin after noon Tuesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
    The funeral for Mr. Poisel will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Mediapolis with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. The body will be cremated.
    A memorial has been established for the Hawkeye Dolbee Public Access Landing.
