Bob Corson was the eldest of three sons born to Robert Burns Corson and Vera Isabelle Anderson Corson Urban. He was the grandson of James McVain Corson and Emma Martin Corson, both early Montana pioneers, and George Lawrence Anderson and Jetta Vines Anderson Van Doren.

Bob served in both the US Navy and the Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War. When he returned from the war, he met his future wife Ursula "Babe" E. Lent. They married after a whirlwind 6-week courtship on June 30, 1954.

Bob worked as a mechanic, with his father, at Northern Pacific Railroad, until he became disabled in his early 40s from complications of Parkinson's Disease. He subsequently worked as a groundskeeper for Mountview Cemetery. He frequently said it was one of the more pleasurable and interesting jobs he had ever held. He was forced to retire when his Parkinson's made it impossible for him to work. His children were still young so he became Mr. Mom for the next 13 years. In his early 50s he moved to Western Manor Nursing Facility where he lived until his death from pneumonia. The staff was amazingly patient and kind to him throughout his entire stay.

Dad loved model railroading, reading, and playing practical jokes on his kids. Before he became ill, he was an avid fisherman, camper, and bowler.

He is survived by his former wife, their 3 children, Vickie Ahrberg, Claremont, CA; Vern (Sally) Corson, Spokane, WA; and Val (Tom) Miller of Billings; grandchildren Jeremy and Bethany Kies, Allison Ahrberg, Tiffany and Cameron Corson, and Tegan Miller; and his brother, Jim of Salem, Oregon.
