Notes - Note on Find a Grave:
He arrived in the US in 1880 on the "City of Chester". On 19 Feb 1884, he married Minnie Grant of Warren County (IL Marriages, 1851-1900). He may be the brother of Fred Alfred Ahlstrand of Monmouth, IL, as they were from the same town in Sweden, and in 1900 Gustave was also living in Monmouth IL with his wife and children: Emily, William, Ernest, and Verrold. In 1910, he was working as a patternmaker in Peoria, living with everyone but Emily, and also with another child, Violet Ahlstrand Stephenson(1907). In 1930, he was widowed and living with his daughter (Verrold Wunnenberg) and her family in Burlington, Iowa.
