    Sheriff Chandler and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office are saddened to announce that Deputy Gary Warren, age 51 of Leipsic, passed away Sunday evening at home. Deputy Warren was a twelve year veteran as a corrections officer in the Putnam County Adult Detention Facility.

    West Leipsic - Gary J. Warren, 51 of West Leipsic, died 10:27 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1963 in Lima to Raymond and Carolyn (Winover) Warren. His father is deceased and mother survives in Leipsic. On July 19, 2003, he married Tamara Bolman who survives in West Leipsic.
    Gary is also survived by a daughter: Jasmine Warren at home; a sister: Barbara Punches of Hamler and 2 brothers: Robert (Irene) Warren of Kalida and Paul (Darla) Warren of Bluffton. He is preceded in death also by his Father and Mother- in-law: Donald and Janice Bolman and a brother-in-law: Cleal Punches, Jr.
    Gary was a Putnam County Deputy Sheriff with the Corrections Division. He was a member and lay minister at New Hope Bethel United Methodist Church, Leipsic . He was a member of the Buckeye State Sheriff Association, an avid science fiction fan, enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins and loved riding roller coasters with his daughter.
    A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Leipsic with the Putnam County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to service Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

    Raymond “Jake” Warren, 73, died at 8:33 a.m. Feb. 17, 1999, at Oak Grove Nursing Home, Deshler.
    He was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Leipsic, to Oden and Flossie Warden Warren. On June 14, 1949, he married Carolyn Winover, who survives.
    Mr. Warren was retired from the village of Leipsic Water Department, and was retired as a volunteer for Leipsic’s fire department and EMS. He was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church, West Leipsic.
    Survivors also include three sons, Robert (Irene) Warren of Kalida and Paul (Darla) Warren and Gary Warren, both of Leipsic; a daughter, Barbara (Cleal) Punches of Hamler; a brother, Calvin Warren of Glenwood, Minn.; a sister, Marge Unterbrink of Ottawa; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Warren; and a sister, Gertrude Warren.
    Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Love Funeral Home, Leipsic. The Rev. J. Mack Geissinger will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.
    Friends may call 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a fire department service will begin at 7 p.m.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

    Leipsic - Carolyn J. Warren, 85, of Leipsic, died 12:50 a.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born March 16, 1930 in Putnam County to the late Harry and Carrie (Shafer) Winover. On June 14, 1949, she married Raymond "Jake" Warren, who died February 17, 1999.
    Carolyn is survived by 2 sons: Robert (Irene) Warren of Kalida; Paul (Darla) Warren of Bluffton and Barb Punches of Hamler; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Luella (Keith) Troyer of Continental and Onetta Payne of McComb. She is preceded in death by a son: Gary Warren.
    Carolyn was a cook. She was a member of New Hope Bethel Church, Hamler; Leipsic Senior Citizens and Leipsic Fire Department Auxiliary.
    Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, with Rev. Ruth Carter-Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 and one hour prior to service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

    Leipsic – Mrs. Gladys “Carrie” Winover, 79, formerly of Leipsic, died Tuesday in Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Gladorf.
    A daughter of William and Luta (Pilcher) Schafer, she was born Jan. 17, 1899 in Defiance County and married Harry Winover on Nov. 26, 1924. He died in 1950.
    Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Keith (Luella) Troyer, Continental; Mrs. Raymond (Carolyn) Warren, Leipsic, and Mrs. Lester (Oneda) Payne, McComb; two brothers, Glenn Schafer, Ada, and Eldon Schafer, Mt. Cory; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Habegger, Findlay, and Mrs. Carroll (Frances) Harris, Toledo; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Blass-Peoples Funeral Home, Leipsic, and burial will be in the Clymer Cemetery near Mt. Cory. Friends may call in the funeral home today.

    BLUFFTON - Services for Mrs. Luta Schafer, 80, of here, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Diller Funeral Home. Elders Robert Schockley and Ivan Hindall will officiate. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery.

    Mrs. Schafer, the widow of William W. Schafer who died in 1948, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday of complications in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Habegger, Rawson.

    She was a member of the Eagle Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

    Survivors include four other daughters, Mrs. Nellie Conoway, Findlay; Mrs. Carrie Winover, Leipsic; Mrs. Lavina Eck, Leipsic; Mrs. Frances Harris, Fayette; two sons, Glenn, Ada, and Eldon, Mount Cory; a sister, Mrs. Clara Beemer, Columbus Grove, a brother, Ed Pilcher, Toledo, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

    The body will remain in the funeral home where friends may call.
