They fell in love and were married at Elizabeth's home by her father, Judge Henry Morris, on March 4th 1855. They started housekeeping on eighty acres of land south of the old Morris' Homestead on which they built a log cabin. [1]

Notes - Mrs. Margaret Hofferbert
Cairo, May 24 – Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Hofferbert, 75, who died Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gail Brenneman, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Congregational Christian church, with Rev. Edward Fischer officiating. Burial will be in the German cemetery in charge of the Hartman funeral home, Columbus Grove. The body is at the Brenneman home.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Laura Timm, Elsie, Mich.; Mrs. Clara Griffith, Cairo; Mrs. Floyd Fase, Lima, and Mrs. Brenneman, and a son, Albert W., Columbus Grove. Two brothers, Joseph Hartman, Columbus Grove, and James, Bancroft, Mich., and two sisters, Mrs. John Blosser, Cloverdale, and Mrs. Cora Snider, Columbus Grove, also survive.
