      Cleta D. Schafer, 82, died at 2:35 p.m. July 6, 1996, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Ottawa.
      She was born Aug. 3, 1913, in Miller City to Oliver and Della Whitbey Heffley. On Oct. 5, 1933, she married Forest J. Schafer, who died March 2, 1982.
      Mrs. Schafer was a homemaker.
      Survivors include a son, John (Sally) Schafer of Wauseon; a daughter, Diana (Gary) Schuller of Ottawa; three sisters, Lavern Lidenour of Ottawa, Fay Andrews of Defiance and Mary Morgan of Garrett, Ind.; a brother, Howard Heffley of Bryan; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by a brother, Don Heffley; two sisters, Wilma Strauster and Lucille Neff; and a grandchild.
      Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. today at Monroe Cemetery, Continental. The Rev. Robert Schreiner will officiate.
      Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental.
      Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
