- Sheriff Chandler and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office are saddened to announce that Deputy Gary Warren, age 51 of Leipsic, passed away Sunday evening at home. Deputy Warren was a twelve year veteran as a corrections officer in the Putnam County Adult Detention Facility.

West Leipsic - Gary J. Warren, 51 of West Leipsic, died 10:27 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1963 in Lima to Raymond and Carolyn (Winover) Warren. His father is deceased and mother survives in Leipsic. On July 19, 2003, he married Tamara Bolman who survives in West Leipsic.
Gary is also survived by a daughter: Jasmine Warren at home; a sister: Barbara Punches of Hamler and 2 brothers: Robert (Irene) Warren of Kalida and Paul (Darla) Warren of Bluffton. He is preceded in death also by his Father and Mother- in-law: Donald and Janice Bolman and a brother-in-law: Cleal Punches, Jr.
Gary was a Putnam County Deputy Sheriff with the Corrections Division. He was a member and lay minister at New Hope Bethel United Methodist Church, Leipsic . He was a member of the Buckeye State Sheriff Association, an avid science fiction fan, enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins and loved riding roller coasters with his daughter.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Leipsic with the Putnam County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to service Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
