- Oliver W. Weaver, 89, Died Monday
Oliver W. Weaver, 89, a pioneer resident of Dewitt county, died at 7:50 p.m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace Samuels, at Osage, Iowa, of complications.
The body will be shipped to Clinton Wednesday at 1 p.m. over the Illinois Central railroad, and taken to the Reeser Funeral home, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in charge of Rev. H.B. Wheaton, pastor of the Christian church. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
He was a son of Solomon and Lydia A. (Niles) Weaver, and was born February 16, 1850. He was married to Amelia Waller June 6, 1872. She died August 22, 1923. He was the father of eight children, three of whom are living. They are Mrs. Minnie Irwin of Hallsville; Mrs. Grace Samuels of Osage, Iowa, and Mrs. Nettie Henson of Cicero, Ill. Three children died in infancy. George Weaver died at Clinton January 15, 1919, and Warren Weaver died in North Dakota December 29, 1934. He also is survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Weaver was the last of a family of ten children.
All his life Mr. Weaver followed the occupation of a farmer. He resided one mile west of Clinton. He had lived with his daughter in Iowa four years.

The body of the late Oliver Wesley Weaver, former DeWitt county farmer who died at Osage, Iowa, Monday night, arrived in Clinton at noon Wednesday over the Illinois Central. It was taken to the Reeser funeral home, where services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. H.B. Wheaton, pastor of the Christian church. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
